Saif al-Adl, the current leader of Al-Qaeda

The United Nations, in a recent report, introduced Saif al-Adl as the current leader of Al-Qaeda.

According to a new report from the United Nations, Saif al-Adl, a former officer of Egypt’s special forces and a high-ranking member of Al-Qaeda, has now become the unrivaled leader of this militant group. The report states that many UN member countries believe Saif al-Adl has spent some time in Iran.

Since last year when Ayman al-Zawahiri, the then leader of Al-Qaeda, was killed in a US missile strike in Kabul, Al-Qaeda has not officially appointed his successor. This is because the death of Ayman al-Zawahiri in 2022, following the killing of bin Laden, the founder of Al-Qaeda, in 2011, is considered the second major blow to this organization.
