Saman Yasin's Letter to the Head of the Judiciary: Tired of Uncertainty, Execute Me

Saman Yasin’s letter to the head of the judiciary: I am tired of uncertainty, execute me

Saman Yasin Seydi, a singer and songwriter in Iran who has been imprisoned since last October, has published a letter from Qezel Hesar prison addressed to the head of the judiciary, stating that he is fed up with 18 months of uncertainty and would even prefer a death sentence to continued uncertainty.

Mr. Yasin wrote in this letter that he is suffering from mental and physical problems, and the prison authorities are refusing to send him to medical centers.

In another part of this letter addressed to Mohseni Ejei, it is stated: If I am guilty, imprison me; if I am not guilty, release me. I request execution because I cannot bear prison and uncertainty for a crime that neither you nor I know.

Saman Yasin, a native of Kermanshah, was arrested in Tehran on October 2, 2022, during nationwide protests.

His case, which had previously been sentenced to death on charges of waging war, gathering and colluding to commit a crime, and acting against national security, has been referred for reconsideration by the Supreme Court due to investigative deficiencies.
