Sanctioning several Chinese companies accused of aiding in the construction of Iranian drones

The U.S. Treasury sanctioned a network based in China, accusing it of assisting Iran in producing drones. This network includes 5 companies and one individual, accused of supporting and providing supplies for the construction of Iranian drones.

These companies and this individual, who operate as a network, are accused of sending thousands of parts to the Iranian Aircraft Manufacturing Company. These parts are used in drone construction.

The U.S. Treasury says that these companies have used these parts to produce the Shahed 136 drone, which Iran has used to attack oil tankers and has also exported to Russia.

The U.S. also sanctioned 39 companies in a separate round of sanctions, stating that these companies and entities have created a sort of shadow banking network, facilitating the Islamic Republic’s access to global financial systems.

Due to the sanctions imposed against Iran, financial transactions with Iranian banks are included in the sanctions against Iran.
