House searches and seizure of belongings of several Baha’i citizens in Kerman
During this week, security forces in Iran searched the homes of several Baha’i citizens in the city of Kerman, seizing their personal electronic devices such as mobile phones, laptops, and tablets, and took them away.
According to reports, on Thursday, April 13, security forces, comprising one woman and six men, entered the home of Hedaiat Hakimian, a Baha’i citizen, after presenting a warrant. They searched and ransacked the home and confiscated electronic devices including mobile phones, tablets, and laptops.
According to an informed source, after searching the home, the agents blindfolded and handcuffed Mr. Hakimian and took him with them, but released this Baha’i citizen after a few minutes.
On Thursday, security forces, consisting of one woman and eight men, also entered the home of Nasrin Dowlat, a Baha’i citizen in Kerman. After searching the home, they seized electronic devices belonging to this Baha’i citizen, including a mobile phone, a laptop, and three hard drives.
Followers of the Baha’i faith in Iran face governmental repression and persecution due to their religion.
