Security warning from the IRGC commander during a speech in Sistan and Baluchestan
While the province of Sistan and Baluchestan has been the scene of public protests against the government for months, especially every Friday after Friday prayers, the commander of the IRGC Ground Forces issued warnings about the regime’s red line during a speech in this province on Tuesday, March 28.
According to Tasnim News Agency, affiliated with the IRGC, Mohammad Pakpour, speaking at a conference of tribal leaders, scholars, and critics of Sistan and Baluchestan, attributed the unrest in this province to ill-wishers and enemies. He mentioned the threshold of tolerance or the red line, stating that if anyone tries to take this security away from the people, they will be dealt with severely.
These remarks come as religious leaders of Sistan and Baluchestan, particularly Molavi Abdolhamid Ismaeelzahi, the Sunni Friday prayer leader of Zahedan, consider the government’s approach and the shooting by Islamic Republic forces at worshippers in Sistan and Baluchestan as the cause of insecurity.
