Senator Graham Again Calls for Attack on Iran

Senator Graham once again called for an attack on Iran

Republican Senator Graham, who has a long history of involvement in U.S. foreign policy towards the Middle East, has long held specific views on issues related to Iran, from the JCPOA and Iran’s nuclear program to Iran’s role in Middle Eastern developments. Over time, he is becoming a symbol of anti-Iran sentiment and Iranophobia. Recently, in response to escalating conflicts between Israel, Iran, and Hezbollah, he encouraged Israel to target Iran’s refineries so that Iran, fearing military action, would pressure Hamas to release hostages. On Sunday, in his latest interview with ABC, he linked the death of Israeli hostages, among whom was an American citizen, to Iran’s role in the region. In a strange remark, he called Iran the ‘Great Satan’ and the main enemy of the U.S. and Israel. Continuing his previous statements, Graham once again referred to Iran’s oil facilities and suggested that the way to deal with Hamas is to contain Iran by officially threatening the country with military action.

He called for the drafting and announcement of a list of specific and tangible targets within Iran, which he believes should prominently include Iranian refineries. According to Graham, threatening Iran with military action is the only way to secure the release of the hostages. He believes that Iran is the reason the hostages have not been freed.
