Senior Kremlin official in Tehran examines various aspects of bilateral cooperation
Amid widespread criticism of the Islamic Republic for sending missiles to Russia for use in the Ukraine war, the Secretary of the Kremlin’s Security Council has traveled to Tehran for the second time in the past 40 days.
Reuters has reported that Sergei Shoigu, the Secretary of Russia’s Security Council, arrived in Tehran on Tuesday, September 18, a week after his trip to North Korea.
The West has accused Tehran and Pyongyang of sending weapons to Russia.
The Iranian government’s information website also published a picture of Mr. Shoigu’s meeting with Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, during which he called for the expansion of relations with Russia.
