Saman Rashno announced on Twitter that his sister Sepideh Rashno’s sentence has been finalized after the charge of facilitating corruption and prostitution was dropped. She now faces three charges: assembly and collusion against national security, propaganda activities against the regime, and being unveiled in public.

He stated that Sepideh Rashno has been sentenced to a five-year suspended prison term with probation.

He writes that one of the instances of the charge of propaganda against the regime in his sister’s verdict was writing several literary critiques about Sadegh Hedayat.

Sepideh Rashno, a 28-year-old writer and editor, was arrested after protesting against a veiled woman who admonished her about mandatory hijab on a bus and threatened to send her video to the IRGC.
