A number of faculty members and professors of Arak University say the lives of one million people are at risk because of burning mazut.
A group of faculty members, professors, and staff of Arak University of Technology have issued a statement emphasizing the need to stop burning mazut at the Shazand power plant.
According to ISNA, this statement, published on the information portal of Arak University of Technology, addresses the people of Arak and Shazand counties, stating that in recent days, the burning of mazut at the Shazand power plant has resumed, seriously endangering the health of more than one million innocent residents of Arak and Shazand cities.
In part of this statement, it is mentioned that according to the Clean Air Act passed in 2017, power plants are not permitted to burn mazut, and officials are urged to seriously prevent the burning of mazut at the Shazand power plant.
The professors of Arak University of Technology have declared their full readiness to provide scientific solutions and proposals to the relevant provincial and national authorities in this statement.
