A severe heatwave in Iran brings temperatures in 9 cities to over 50 degrees
According to Sadegh Ziaeian, the Director-General of Forecasting at Iran’s Meteorological Organization, the trend of rising temperatures has begun in many cities across the country, and residents in 9 cities are facing 50-degree temperatures.
Ziaeian told reporters that according to the latest analyses, the maximum temperature in 9 cities in the provinces of Bushehr, Khuzestan, and Fars reached above 50 degrees during the 24 hours leading up to Sunday, June 23.
According to the Meteorological Organization, the cities of Khormoj in Bushehr with a temperature of 50.9, Gotvand and Bostan in Khuzestan 50.6, Shabankareh in Bushehr 50.5, Dezhgah Dehram in Fars province 50.4, Ahvaz, Safiabad Dezful, and Ab Pakhsh Bushehr 50.2, and Shush in Khuzestan with a temperature of 50 degrees Celsius are experiencing the hottest weather these days.
The Director-General of Forecasting at the Meteorological Organization added that in the next six days, the maximum temperature in some cities in the southwestern regions of the country will exceed 50 degrees.
