Severe Restrictions by the Islamic Republic on International Atomic Energy Agency Inspectors

Esmail Kowsari, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, emphasized in an interview with Fars News Agency that the entry of International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors to sites that have been damaged or affected by incidents is completely prohibited.

He stated that the inspections by the Agency are only limited to places like the Bushehr power plant and Tehran’s nuclear facilities, and the Islamic Republic will not allow access to other sites.

These statements were made simultaneously with the stance of the Supreme National Security Council, which announced yesterday that despite the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ cooperation with the Agency and presenting plans to resolve disputes, the recent actions of European countries regarding the Islamic Republic’s nuclear dossier will lead to a suspension of cooperation.
