Severe warning from a Member of Parliament to the Minister of Interior: What is the reason for unconventional treatment of women under the pretext of hijab?
Jalal Mahmoudzadeh, the representative of Mahabad, gave a warning to the Minister of Interior.
He wrote to the Minister of Interior, stating that recently we have witnessed unconventional and illegal treatments by individuals under the guise of hijab patrol or guidance patrol in the framework of the Noor plan with women and female students across the country, which has led to conflicts between the moral security patrol officers and women in the streets.
Unfortunately, these treatments are carried out under the claim of enforcing the law, while the law of chastity and hijab, due to having legal and religious flaws, has been repeatedly objected to by the Guardian Council and has not yet been finalized. Therefore, dear Minister, the question arises: based on which law do the officers allow themselves to treat women in this manner?
You, as the custodian of the country’s security, should enforce the laws and not allow women to be forcibly and threateningly put into patrol cars, contrary to Article 638 of the Islamic Penal Code.
How long do you intend to continue this incorrect approach to the issue of hijab?
