Shahin Shahr Representative's Warning to Judiciary: Take No Action on Hijab Until April 3rd, or Parliament Will Act

Warning from the Shahin Shahr representative to the Judiciary: If no action is taken regarding hijab by April 3rd, the Parliament will act.

Hossein Ali Haji Deligani, the representative of Shahin Shahr, Borkhar, and Meymeh in Parliament, stated that one of the points in the Cultural Commission’s report concerning modesty and hijab was a request to the Judiciary to provide necessary solutions for the legal gaps related to the affirmative or prohibitive aspects of modesty and hijab within three weeks.

The mentioned deadline ends on April 3rd. If the Judiciary does not take action in this regard, we, the Parliament representatives, will prepare a plan on this matter and put it on the Parliament’s agenda.

Considering the concerns that the devout have about modesty and hijab in society, and given the necessity in society, we need to have new legislation. Additionally, we will follow up on the issues from a supervisory perspective.
