Shamkhani, the Supreme Leader's Political Advisor, Denies Iran's Contact with the U.S. Before the Ain al-Asad Attack

Shamkhani, the political advisor to the leadership, states that Iran’s contact with the US before the attack on Ain al-Asad is false.

The political advisor to the leadership denied the recent statements by former US President Donald Trump regarding Iran’s contact with the US before the missile attack on the Ain al-Asad base, saying that based on a consensus decision, it was determined that a large-scale missile operation against the Ain al-Asad base, considered the most important US base in Iraq, would be carried out in a completely surprising manner to achieve maximum destruction.

Due to Iran’s close relations with Iraq and also considering neighboring precautions, the matter was only communicated to the then Prime Minister of Iraq half an hour before the operation in such a way that it would not allow the US to anticipate specific protective measures.
