Shirin Ebadi: The Islamic Republic has started an obvious crime against women by exploiting wartime conditions

Shirin Ebadi says the Islamic Republic has begun a blatant crime against women by exploiting wartime conditions.

Shirin Ebadi, Nobel Peace Prize laureate, states that the Islamic Republic has exploited wartime conditions to initiate a blatant crime against women in the streets of Iran.

On Friday, April 20th, lawyer Shirin Ebadi wrote a letter to Volker Türk, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, mentioning the intensification of enforced hijab in Iran and emphasized that, given the news and videos broadcast from Iran, the situation is very critical.

In this context, the Iranian Retirees Council announced in a statement on Friday that the actions of the Islamic Republic in recent days are a declaration of war against life and freedom and an opportunity to assault the entire society.
