The Kurdistan Human Rights Network has reported that the Revolutionary Guards forces in Javanrud opened fire on people returning from the funeral of two victims of the city’s public protests. Reports indicate that at least 10 citizens were injured by live bullets. The situation in this city, like many Kurdish cities, has been described as highly militarized and secure.

Erfan Kakayi and Bahaeddin Veysi were killed last night during the Javanrud protests as a result of shooting by military security forces. The funeral was held at the city’s cemetery.
