CBS: Oman and Iran’s negotiations on the Strait of Hormuz have progressed
CBS News, citing regional sources, reported that negotiations between Oman and Iran on reopening the Strait of Hormuz and related waterways have made progress, although diplomacy still requires more time to reach a final agreement.
According to these sources, Omani officials traveled to Tehran on Friday to hold talks with Iranian officials. They also claimed that the halt of U.S. airstrikes was deliberate to prevent disrupting the sensitive face-to-face negotiations between the parties.
According to the report, the U.S. is closely monitoring the negotiations between Oman and Iran. CBS added that the White House and the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) have not responded to requests for comments on these claims. Additionally, Donald Trump has stated that Iran wants to make a deal, but he added that in his opinion, the time to reach an agreement has not yet come, although he is open to hearing proposals.
