Simin Rajali, the first female professor at the National University of Iran, has passed away.
Simin Rajali, the first female professor at the National University of Iran, currently known as Beheshti University, passed away at the age of 91 in the United States.
Her passing was announced by her children on the evening of Wednesday, October 23rd.
Giti Khadiri, Ms. Rajali’s daughter, said that her mother, who had been hospitalized near Washington D.C. for a few days, passed away on Wednesday surrounded by her husband and two children.
Sakineh Simin Rajali, born in 1934 in Tehran, was at one point the Secretary-General of the Women’s Organization of Iran before the 1979 Islamic Revolution. During that time, she founded the Shomiran Higher School, which trained students in three fields: preschool education, counseling, and family welfare.
