Sistan and Baluchestan still surrounded by floods

With continued rainfall in Sistan and Baluchestan, 11 counties in this province remain surrounded by floods and waterlogging. 22 routes in this province are closed. In the absence of facilities, at least 13 pregnant women have been relocated by boat.

Babak Mahmoudi, head of the Red Crescent Organization, announced on Friday, March 1, that 11 counties in Sistan and Baluchestan are surrounded by floods and waterlogging.

Mr. Mahmoudi named Khash, Sib and Soran, Fanuj, Iranshahr, Mirjaveh, Nikshahr, Delgan, Chabahar, Saravan, Zahedan, Nimroz, Sarbaz, Konarak, and Mehrestan as the counties that need emergency services.

According to the head of the Red Crescent Organization, most of the floods have occurred north of Chabahar, leading to widespread waterlogging.

Majid Mohabi, the director general of the Crisis Management Office of the province, also reported on Friday that the communication routes of 22 main, secondary, and rural paths in southern Sistan and Baluchestan are closed.
