South Korean Fighters Confront North Korean Drones

South Korean fighter jets face North Korean drones

South Korean military officials announced that several North Korean drones have crossed the border between the two countries and entered South Korean airspace.

According to the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff, the drones violated the country’s airspace in the border area of Gyeonggi Province.

Reports indicate that one of these five drones flew close to Seoul, the capital of South Korea.

The last time North Korean drones crossed the border between the two countries was five years ago, in June 2017, when tensions between the two neighbors had peaked.

Today’s developments also occur as tensions between the two neighbors have increased due to North Korea’s numerous missile tests.
