Spanish Prosecutors Request 9-Year Prison Sentence for Dani Alves

The Spanish prosecutor has requested a 9-year prison sentence for Dani Alves.

The Spanish prosecutor, in its indictment against Brazilian footballer Dani Alves who is accused of sexually assaulting a young woman, has asked the court to sentence him to 9 years in prison.

Dani Alves, the former Barcelona player, has been in temporary detention in a prison near Barcelona since January. The date for his trial has not yet been set.

In its indictment, the Spanish prosecutor has also requested that Dani Alves pay 150,000 euros in compensation to the victim of this case. In another part of the indictment, the court is asked to impose a restriction on Dani Alves from approaching the victim of this sexual assault case.

Forty-year-old Dani Alves is accused of sexually assaulting the young woman last year in the bathroom of a nightclub in Barcelona. He denies this accusation, claiming that he had consensual sex with the young woman. The former Barcelona player, however, has changed his account of what happened between him and the young woman several times.
