Spokesperson of the Parliament's National Security Commission: We will withdraw from the NPT if the trigger mechanism is activated

The spokesperson for the National Security Commission of the Parliament: We will withdraw from the NPT if the snapback mechanism is activated.

The spokesperson for the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Parliament announced that the members of this commission are drafting a plan that would obligate the Islamic Republic’s government to officially withdraw from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) if the Europeans activate the snapback mechanism.

Ebrahim Rezaei claimed that this option is among the red lines of national interests and that there should be readiness to provide appropriate responses.

He claimed that if the snapback mechanism is activated, the issue of withdrawing from the NPT is also under consideration.

Additionally, Behnam Saeedi, the first secretary of the commission, claimed that potential decisions in this regard are on the agenda and a strong response will be given.
