Stanford University Released the Film of the Play 'Jana and Baladoor' by Beyzaie to the Public for Nowruz 2025

Stanford University made the film of the play ‘Jana and Balador’ by Beyzaie available to the public for Nowruz 1404.

Stanford University in the United States released the film of the play ‘Jana and Balador’ by Bahram Beyzaie on its YouTube page for Nowruz 1404.

‘Jana and Balador’ is a shadow play, a style that was once part of the theatrical art in Iran but gradually fell into oblivion.

Beyzaie wrote the first version of this play in 1977, but after the revolution, he was never able to perform it in Iran, and even the publication of its book was not permitted.

After emigrating to the United States, he finally managed to stage this work on June 27, 2012, in California, with Mojdeh Shamsaie and Mohsen Namjoo performing.

The film of this performance has been released to the public for the first time, and now fans of Beyzaie’s works and Iranian theater can watch it through Stanford University’s YouTube page.
