The onset of a new wave of COVID-19 in Iran: The Ministry of Health has asked hospitals to be on alert.
The Deputy Minister of Health has stated that a new peak of COVID-19 has begun in the country.
According to ISNA news agency, Hossein Farshidi has reported that from today, a new peak of COVID-19 has started in the country, and all hospitals and medical staff have been asked to be on alert because the peak will reach its height in the next 4 to 6 weeks.
He stated that three new variants of COVID-19, named BQ1, XBB, and BA2, have been observed in patients.
Referring to the rapid transmission of these new virus variants, he said that borders should be quickly monitored and suspected patients identified.
The Deputy Minister of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education has warned that a significant amount of time has passed since the last public COVID-19 vaccine injection, and it is predicted that within one to one and a half months, we will experience a new COVID-19 peak reaching its height.
According to him, the symptoms of the new COVID-19 variants have shifted from the classic fever and cough to symptoms such as gastrointestinal issues, fatigue, and headache.
