Start of Sardar Azmoun's Project Supporting Female Cyclists

The Launch of Sardar Azmoun’s Project to Support Female Cyclists

According to some media outlets in Iran, Sardar Azmoun, the national football team striker and current member of Germany’s Bayer Leverkusen, intends to support women’s cycling in Iran.

Media in Iran have reported that informal and preliminary discussions have been held with some of the managers of this field and the Cycling Federation.

At the same time, it doesn’t seem that Sardar Azmoun’s support for women’s cycling in the current situation will extend to team ownership, and he intends to provide this support through organizing events and awarding prizes.

Previously, Sardar Azmoun owned and managed a women’s volleyball team, which he disbanded after they became runners-up in the Women’s Premier League due to the federation’s lack of support for the private sector.
