Statement by dozens of doctors for joint action on poisonings
Dozens of doctors, paramedics, and healthcare activists in Iran have called for joint action by their colleagues regarding the suspicious poisonings in predominantly girls’ schools in the country.
These individuals, by issuing a joint statement addressed to the board of the National Medical Organization, urged the board members to take joint action before it’s too late and the disaster becomes more widespread, and to be accountable to us and our people.
The statement reads: Isn’t it the responsibility of our medical, health, and forensic authorities to form joint teams to uncover the real causes and to address past misunderstandings like suspicious deaths, and to respond to the causes of incidents with clear scientific reasoning and restore their credibility to society?
Despite three months passing since the start of the suspicious poisonings of students, intelligence and security agencies have yet to clarify the cause and factors behind these poisonings.
