Steve Witkoff, the U.S. special envoy, announced that senior Iranian negotiators in the first round of recent talks with the U.S. have stated they possess 460 kilograms of 60% enriched uranium and know that this amount can be used to make 11 nuclear bombs.
On the evening of Monday, March 1, he told Fox News that Iranian negotiators discussed this matter directly and without any shame.
According to Witkoff, the Iranian side boasted about bypassing various monitoring protocols to reach a point where they could produce 11 nuclear bombs.
He added that the Iranian delegation at that meeting emphasized their inalienable right to enrich nuclear fuel, and the American delegation responded by stating that Donald Trump believes we also have an inalienable right to completely stop you.
The U.S. special representative also claimed that Iran’s high-enriched uranium reserves could reach weapon-grade levels within a week to 10 days, although achieving this requires facilities that, according to Trump, were destroyed during the 12-day war.
