Strange Remarks by a Member of Parliament: If People Are Seeking Truths, They Should Trust the National Broadcaster

Strange remarks by a member of parliament: If people are seeking the truth, they should trust the national broadcaster.

Mojtaba Mahfouzi, a member of the Cultural Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, made strange remarks in an interview with the Iranian watchdog site.

He stated that if people are looking for the truth around them, they should trust domestic media, especially the national broadcaster, and not get their news from foreign sources.

If people are seeking accurate news and real facts, they should follow domestic and official media and be assured that the truths are what is reported in these media.

Of course, some truths might not be disclosed due to necessity and classified or security information, which is common in all countries. They might be revealed after a while or might not be announced at all because announcing them could harm the country and the nation.

Just as I am certain of the truthfulness of domestic media news, I am equally sure of the falsehood of news from hostile and foreign media. More than 50% of the news from hostile networks is false. Some of the videos they broadcast about recent riots are from past years or even from other countries and are not real. They only intend to excite and disturb the public.
