Strange statements from the Ministry of Culture: If rappers want a license, they must sing pop.
Mahmoud Salari, Deputy for Artistic Affairs at the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, responded to the question of whether it is true that licenses have been issued for three rap singers. He said no, this is not true. Apparently, no license has been issued for rap music yet. A license was issued for a work that was pop, and the singer, known for rap, did not rap in that work, and its genre is pop. In fact, we granted a license for his pop music. I also reviewed the other two names mentioned, and it was decided that if they sing in the pop genre, they would receive a license.
After the discussion about some rap singers getting licensed under the thirteenth government, recent news emerged that Hamid Sefat, Charsi, and Dedan, three rap music singers, have been officially licensed by the Music Office of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.
