Street Vending in the Metro with a Daily Income of One Million Tomans

Street vending in the metro with a daily wage of one million tomans

According to the Jam-e-Jam newspaper, street vendors in Tehran’s metro are hired with a daily wage ranging from 500 thousand to one million tomans.

Many advertisements titled ‘Hiring street vendors in Tehran’s metro’ are seen on various websites. For the advertisers, work experience is not very important, and many of them offer daily wages, while some pay on a commission basis.

In some ads, it is mentioned that if you sell well, you can earn up to 2 million tomans per day. Other ads mention a monthly income of 87 million tomans.

Tehran’s municipality has repeatedly talked about organizing street vendors and has presented numerous plans, all of which have failed so far.
