Student Poisoning Leads to School Closures in Qom

The poisoning of students led to the closure of schools in Qom.

The Public Relations of the Qom General Directorate of Education announced that due to the investigation of the causes of poisoning in Qom schools and at the request of students’ parents, all educational units under the supervision of this directorate will operate virtually tomorrow and the day after, on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Since this morning, Monday, 61 students with symptoms of respiratory poisoning from a total of 8 schools in Qom have been transferred to medical centers by emergency services.

The general condition of most of the students has been reported as good, with most experiencing anxiety and stress.

Signs of carbon monoxide gas have been detected in the schools, but we cannot definitively attribute all the poisonings to carbon monoxide gas. Testing is ongoing.
