Subsidence of Structures on Soil from the Achaemenid Era in the Marvdasht Plain

The head of the Hydrogeology Group of the Geological Survey and Mineral Exploration Organization announced on Friday, August 3, in an interview with ISNA news agency, the subsidence of structures on the soil from the Achaemenid era in the Marvdasht plain.

In this interview, Iman Entezami Soltani stated that over the past two years, there has been a 21-centimeter subsidence, and the Achaemenid structures are not only experiencing subsidence but are also affected by deep rock fissures. He further explained the general condition of the historical structures of Marvdasht, stating that the main infrastructure of the Achaemenid structures is on a rocky bed, which is not affected by soil subsidence. However, structures located in the soil section have become vulnerable over time due to soil subsidence and the formation of fissures.
