Survey results show Biden is better than Trump despite his old age
A new Quinnipiac University poll shows that Joe Biden, despite a majority of voters being concerned about his age, slightly leads Donald Trump.
The survey, conducted from February 15 to February 19, revealed that 49% of registered voters support Biden, the current U.S. President, and 45% support Trump, the former U.S. President, in a hypothetical general election matchup.
However, 67% of voters said that 81-year-old Biden is too old to effectively serve another term, compared to 57% who feel the same about 77-year-old Trump. Only 34% believe Biden is mentally fit for a second term, while 48% think Trump is mentally suitable.
Trump’s main rival, Nikki Haley, the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, has criticized both Biden and Trump for their advanced ages. Additionally, Democratic Representative Dean Phillips has posed a challenge to Biden, mainly due to concerns that Biden’s age makes him unsuitable to run and win against the former president.
Meanwhile, Biden and Trump dismiss these concerns as unfounded.
