U.S. President Joe Biden, in a statement confirming the resignation of his domestic policy advisor, expressed appreciation for her efforts in healthcare and immigration, saying Susan Rice, the White House domestic policy advisor, is resigning after two years.

Rice, who previously served as National Security Advisor and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations during the presidency of Barack Obama, is set to leave her office in one day.

The reason for Biden’s domestic policy advisor’s resignation has not yet been announced, but according to some sources, among those being considered as Rice’s successor is Neera Tanden, Biden’s staff secretary and senior advisor.
