Text of Tajzadeh’s Letter to Ayatollah Khamenei
Fakhri Mohtashami, the wife of Mostafa Tajzadeh, published his recent letter to the Supreme Leader in a series of tweets. The text of Tajzadeh’s letter to Ayatollah Khamenei is as follows: In the name of God, Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei, Greetings. I have written this letter at the end of my three-month illegal detention in solitary confinement in Ward 2-A of Evin Prison, which is under the absolute control and authority of the IRGC intelligence agents, with great difficulty and with the aim of once again reminding about the arbitrary actions of the IRGC intelligence agents.
As you are aware, on the evening of Friday, July 8th, several IRGC agents stormed our residential home and arrested me in a manner that not only lacked any legal basis but also could only be seen as a display of the arbitrary behavior of this tyrannical group. Since that date, except for a few negligible and compelled instances, none of the legal rights of a prisoner have been observed in my case. Even the severe physical condition that led to my hospitalization at Tehran Heart Center and emergency medical interventions did not change this approach. Contrary to the doctors’ recommendations, after angioplasty, I was returned to solitary confinement under inappropriate conditions.
Overall, despite the formation of a court and the issuance of a verdict, I am still deprived of the rights similar to those of other prisoners, and apparently, the IRGC intelligence does not intend to transfer me to the general ward. The agents of this security institution claim full authority to break the law and disregard the current regulations regarding me, to the extent that they have deprived me of access to communication facilities similar to other prisoners, including radio, television, and prison newspapers. They are pleased that in this way, I remain unaware of the minimum news from outside and even inside the prison. I emphasize once again that the purpose of writing this letter is to remind you of the continued deeply law-defying actions of the IRGC agents as judicial officers.
Now, if you were unaware of the imposed conditions by your directly supervised organization on one of your critics, it is expected that after the publication of this letter and gaining the necessary awareness of these conditions, you will issue an immediate and strict order to stop these law violations. And if these injustices and restrictions occur with your consent and approval, I express my deep concern to the people. When there is such blatant law-breaking in dealing with someone who has proudly dedicated his life to the dignity of Iran and Iranians, and whose only crime is to critique the leader’s performance and to list his mistakes in a sincere and respectful manner in the hope of reform, what happens to the youth who have no support and are not known, and what becomes of them in detention centers and during interrogations by IRGC agents?
