Taliban Commander in Badakhshan Arrested Several Protesters

The Taliban commander in Badakhshan said we have arrested several protesters.

The press office of the 219th Umar Saalis Division in Badakhshan stated in a notice that the protest of the villagers of Barlas in Argo district ended with the arrest of several instigators of this event, and the situation has returned to normal.

The statement quoted Mahboobullah Hamed, the commander of this division who is present in the area, saying that the people have returned to their homes and the destruction of poppy fields continues.

In the released videos, it is seen that the protesting people have gathered in the poppy fields and the sound of sporadic gunfire can be heard.

According to local sources, Taliban government forces fired at the protesters, resulting in at least two people being killed and 13 injured.
