Tasnim: Significant Disagreements with the US Still Persist
In a report, Tasnim News Agency wrote about the ongoing talks mediated by Pakistan, stating that Iran emphasizes the necessity of separating the issue of ending the war from the nuclear program.
The agency wrote that the texts Iran has handed over to the Pakistani mediator all have a specific framework, including that only if the first step, meaning the end of the war with conditions acceptable to Iran and practical actions by the US, is achieved, will the second step, the nuclear materials issue, be addressed. Exiting or giving nuclear materials to the US is a red line for Iran. Regarding the closure of nuclear facilities, Iran has not accepted any commitments. Iran stresses the necessity of ending the war and threats on all fronts, including Lebanon. If the current disagreements are resolved in the first step, an initial agreement will be announced, and then a 30 or 60-day period will be given for talks on the nuclear issue without any initial commitments from Iran. A significant portion of the blocked funds must be released in the first step and made available to Iran.
The US has stated that it is not willing to offer any concessions, including lifting sanctions, to Tehran during the negotiations.
