Tehran: 55 Iranian Fishermen Detained in the UAE Released

Tehran: 55 Iranian fishermen detained in the UAE have been released.

The Iranian embassy in the United Arab Emirates announced that 55 Iranian fishermen who had been detained in the country in recent months have been released.

According to the embassy, these individuals were detained by the UAE Coast Guard in the months of Esfand and Farvardin due to what was described as special regional conditions and disruptions in tracking systems.

The Iranian embassy added that these fishermen are mainly from the provinces of Sistan and Baluchestan and Hormozgan, and the process of repatriating them to the country has begun.

This is the first time that the detention of this number of Iranian citizens in the UAE has been officially reported.
