Tehran City Council Member: Construction in Laleh Park Halted

A member of the Tehran City Council said construction in Laleh Park has been halted

The head of the Urban Planning Commission of the Tehran City Council announced the halt of construction in Laleh Park

Mehdi Abbasi, regarding the outcome of the construction in Laleh Park, mentioned that a meeting was held in the Urban Planning Commission of the Tehran City Council on the topic of Laleh Park. He said that in this meeting, the Deputy of Urban Services, the CEO of the Parks Organization, and the district mayor were present, and it was decided to halt the construction.

He stated that currently, construction in Laleh Park has been stopped due to the City Council’s involvement in the matter. He also mentioned that it was decided to submit the construction plan to the Urban Planning Commission of the City Council for finalization so that necessary reviews can be conducted.

Abbasi, explaining two scenarios for the new construction, added that either the implementation of the plan will be moved to the land opposite the park following an agreement with the University of Tehran, or the project will be built elsewhere, but these matters need to be reviewed.
