The governor of Tehran says if anyone is unemployed, they should come to us so we can provide them with a job.
Mohsen Mansouri, in today’s press conference on Tuesday, September 1, 2022, held on the occasion of Government Week, pointed to major economic developments in the past year in the province of Tehran. He stated that in the economic sectors over the past year in Tehran province, significant changes have occurred, resulting in a daily decrease in the unemployment rate. Today, there are counties in Tehran province, such as Pakdasht and Robat Karim, without any unemployed individuals. This means if someone is willing to work but does not have a job, there is capacity and readiness in these counties to introduce them to workshops and factories as quickly as possible. The unemployment rate in Tehran province has now fallen below 6 percent. This report is documented and based on the insurance premiums that employers in Tehran province have paid into insurance companies’ accounts, and it is verifiable. I can confidently say that today, anyone in the province who wants to work can find a job, and we have no problem creating employment opportunities for applicants. However, the issue is that people want to obtain jobs that they desire. For instance, in some cities, 80 percent of job seekers are interested in working in municipalities, governorates, or the public sector, which is not feasible. We have engineering, design, and factory labor positions that need manpower, but the work culture in society favors desk jobs, and this culture needs to change.
