Tehran Prosecutor Filed Charges Against the Editor-in-Chief of Shargh Newspaper

The Tehran prosecutor has filed charges against the editor-in-chief of the Shargh newspaper.

The Tehran Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor has announced charges against the editor-in-chief of the Shargh newspaper due to the publication of several reports on the topic of violence against women in this newspaper.

Ali Salehi on Tuesday described the published content related to women as false and undocumented.

According to him, the explanations provided by the editor and employees of the Shargh newspaper regarding the reports on the harassment and murder of women and the cutting of girls’ hair were insufficient, and according to Mr. Salehi, they have contributed to spreading a sense of insecurity in society.

The Shargh network, the online website of the Shargh newspaper, has only republished this news and has not shown any reaction to it.
