Tehran residents breathed polluted air for 108 days
Since the beginning of this year, Tehran citizens have breathed unhealthy air for 108 days, air that is a cause and aggravator of various diseases, including cancer.
Air pollution is considered the second leading cause of deaths from non-communicable diseases.
Statistics show an upward trend in cancer cases in Iran.
According to Mohammadreza Sohrabi, the Deputy of Health Affairs at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, more than 135,000 people are diagnosed with cancer annually in Iran.
