Tehran called for Kuwait’s friendly cooperation regarding the Arash gas field.
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in response to the final statement of the 44th summit of the Gulf Cooperation Council in Doha, said that the Islamic Republic of Iran considers any claim regarding these islands as interference in its internal sovereignty and territorial integrity and strongly condemns it.
Nasser Kanaani added that based on its bilateral negotiations with the Kuwaiti government and the history of negotiations, the Islamic Republic of Iran has always emphasized friendly and constructive cooperation in the energy sector, including in the Arash region. Undoubtedly, behaviors based on attention to common interests and benefits can provide suitable grounds for regional cooperation.
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also stated that the missile capabilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran are within the framework of a transparent military doctrine based on deterrence and national security. The Islamic Republic of Iran has always adhered to its international laws and obligations within the framework of rights and duties and continues its constructive cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency based on the comprehensive safeguards agreement.
