Secretary of the Tehran Committee for Promoting Virtue: Arrest Zarif

The Secretary of the Tehran Committee for Promoting Virtue on Thursday, January 24, in response to the statements of Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iran’s Vice President, at the Davos meeting, said anti-coup forces should arrest Zarif as soon as he enters the country and subject him to interrogation.

Ruhollah Momeni-Nasab added that if Zarif is not arrested, Iran will soon face more complex and very dangerous crises.

On Wednesday, January 23, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Mohammad Javad Zarif claimed that the Islamic Republic has decided not to pressure women regarding the hijab.

In an interview with Fareed Zakaria, the famous host and analyst of CNN, he said if you walk in the streets of Tehran, you will see some women without headscarves, and despite this being illegal, the government has decided not to put pressure on women.

Mohammad Javad Zarif added regarding leniency on the issue of non-compliance with mandatory hijab that this decision is taken as a step towards the right direction, but it is not enough and is only considered an initial step.
