Tehran’s Reaction to Ukraine’s Decision to Reduce Diplomatic Relations

Following reports about the Ukrainian government’s decision to reduce diplomatic relations with Tehran and to revoke the credentials of the Iranian ambassador, the spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry expressed regret over Kyiv’s decision, describing it as based on unverified reports and influenced by the media atmosphere created by foreign parties.

Nasser Kanaani, highlighting Iran’s clear policy of active neutrality in the Ukraine-Russia conflict, emphasized Tehran’s opposition to war and the necessity of resolving disputes politically without violence.

Kanaani stressed that Iran would take appropriate actions in response to the Ukrainian government’s decision and advised Kyiv to avoid being influenced by third parties seeking to damage the relations between the two countries.
