Ten Directives from Muqtada al-Sadr to His Supporters
Muqtada al-Sadr, the leader of the Sadrist Movement in Iraq, yesterday, September 20th, addressed his followers on Twitter, urging those who wish to reform and those who have revolted against oppression and corruption to move towards Karbala. He set ten conditions for this movement. The leader of the Sadrist Movement emphasized that there are several conditions for this movement and then announced his ten conditions for moving towards Karbala as follows:
First, without any specific flags belonging to any group, party, camp, or sect, as Imam Hussein is the Imam of Islam, humanity, and reform.
Second, absolutely no holding of photos or placards, whether of martyrs or anyone else, as all those blessed by God’s grace are absorbed in Imam Hussein, who is the master of the martyrs of paradise.
Third, no wearing of shrouds or any clothing that distinguishes you from other pilgrims, especially military attire. Everyone should only wear the attire of sincerity and purity.
Fourth, your cries should solely be the mention of God’s name, His obedience, Imam Hussein, and the Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them.
Fifth, adhere to the highest degree of patience, wisdom, and ethics. Security forces must deal seriously and without any leniency with anyone from any side who does not adhere to these directives, as they are either infiltrators or haters of the Hussaini rituals.
Sixth, accusing others and labeling them as Ba’athist, terrorist, or militia is forbidden, prohibited, and considered slander during this ceremony.
Seventh, any assault on foreign, non-Iraqi pilgrims, especially Iranian brothers, by hand, tongue, or any other means, is detestable, prohibited, and even forbidden, and goes against customs.
Eighth, it is a given that carrying any kind of firearms or cold weapons is prohibited and even forbidden. Anyone who violates this will be dealt with by the security forces.
Ninth, showing the highest degree of cooperation with security forces in all regions of Iraq, especially in sacred Karbala. We thank you in advance for this.
Tenth, the Popular Mobilization Forces and Saraya al-Salam must avoid taking any position or control over anything or undertaking any security action this year. This is a necessity, and not adhering to it will not have a happy ending.
Muqtada al-Sadr concluded by emphasizing that he disassociates himself from anyone who ignores these directives and acts against them, having no connection with them either closely or remotely. He also announced the possibility of implementing these directives until the 28th of Safar, the death anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and the mourning ceremonies at the shrine of Imam Ali in Najaf.
