Ten Directives from Muqtada al-Sadr to His Supporters
Muqtada al-Sadr, the leader of the Sadrist Movement in Iraq, yesterday on September 20th, called upon the lovers of reform and those who have revolted against oppression and corruption to move towards the holy Karbala. He set ten conditions for this movement. The leader of the Sadrist Movement emphasized that there are several conditions for this movement and then announced his ten conditions for the move towards the holy Karbala as follows:
First, without any specific flags belonging to a group, party, camp, or even sect, as Imam Hussein is the Imam of Islam, humanity, and reform.
Second, absolutely no holding of photos or placards, neither of martyrs nor anyone else; all those who receive God’s grace are absorbed in Imam Hussein, who is the master of the martyrs of paradise.
Third, do not wear shrouds or any clothing that distinguishes you from other pilgrims, especially military uniforms. Everyone should only wear the attire of sincerity and purity.
Fourth, your cries should be solely and exclusively the mention of God’s name, His obedience, Imam Hussein, and the Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them.
Fifth, adhere to the highest degree of patience, wisdom, and ethics. Security forces should deal seriously and without any negligence with anyone from any side who does not adhere to these instructions because they might be infiltrators or haters of the Hussaini rituals.
Sixth, accusing others and labeling them as Ba’athists, terrorists, or militias during this ceremony is forbidden, prohibited, and is considered as spreading falsehood.
Seventh, any aggression towards foreign non-Iraqi pilgrims, especially Iranian brothers, by hand, tongue, or any other means is detestable, reprehensible, forbidden, and even against the norms.
Eighth, it is an established fact that carrying any kind of weapons, whether warm or cold, is forbidden and even prohibited. Anyone who acts contrary to this will be dealt with by security forces.
Ninth, show the highest degree of cooperation with security forces in all regions of Iraq, especially in the holy Karbala. We thank you in advance for this.
Tenth, the Popular Mobilization Forces and the Saraya al-Salam must refrain from taking any place or controlling anything or undertaking any security action this year. This is a necessity, and failure to comply will not end well.
Muqtada al-Sadr concluded by emphasizing that he disassociates himself from anyone who ignores these instructions and acts contrary to them, having no connection with them either closely or distantly. He also announced the possibility of implementing these instructions until the 28th of Safar and the commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad’s passing and the mourning ceremonies at the shrine of Imam Ali in Najaf al-Ashraf.
