The Advertising Use of Prisoner Amnesty

The promotional use of prisoner amnesty

The Islamic Republic government has launched extensive advertising campaigns about prisoner amnesty, and some lawyers have considered it a replacement for the position of complainant and defendant.

Judicial authorities have not yet released any statistics on the number of political prisoners and post-September 17 detainees, but human rights organizations, including HRANA, a human rights activist group in Iran, have announced that the number of detainees from September 17 to Friday, February 20 is 19,763.

According to this report, 528 people lost their lives during protests that lasted 148 days, 71 children were killed, and four people were executed.
