The Association of Malt Beverage Producers: Malt beverage consumption has halved in the last 10 years.
The secretary of the Iranian Association of Malt Beverage and Malt Producers said that over the past decade, our production was 700 to 750 million liters per year, and now it has almost halved, with demand decreasing by the same amount, one of the main reasons being household economics.
Hamid Reza Kamalalavi, regarding the state of the malt beverage market in the country, stated that this year we only had one price increase for malt beverages because companies have always tried to keep costs low and consider the consumer, but unfortunately, the price of raw materials is increasing day by day.
He stated that malt beverage consumption is being removed from the household basket and added that in recent years, due to household economic conditions, consumption has decreased, but companies have tried not to reduce production volume.
The secretary of the Iranian Association of Malt Beverage and Malt Producers said that currently, a small portion of the malt beverage produced is exported, and the rest is consumed domestically.
He stated that production is between 400 to 450 million liters per year, and the per capita consumption per person per year is about 4 to 5 liters.
