The Attorney General of the country demands the arrest and punishment of those responsible for Haniyeh’s murder

Mohammad Movahedi Azad, the Attorney General of the country, on Wednesday, August 1st, following the killing of Ismail Haniyeh, the political leader of the Hamas group, instructed the Tehran prosecutor to, in cooperation with military, law enforcement, and security forces, take necessary actions to arrest and punish those responsible for Ismail Haniyeh’s murder in Tehran.

He emphasized utilizing all domestic and international capacities for this matter.

Ismail Haniyeh, who in the later years of his life was based in Qatar, had come to Tehran to attend the inauguration ceremony of Masoud Pezeshkian and to meet with the leader of the Islamic Republic. Early Wednesday morning, he was killed along with one of his guards at the hotel where he was staying.
